Charlie

Happy 2nd Birthday to a special little boy, Charlie Alejandro Smegal. Charlie almost has humanlike  qualities. From the time we got him, he has always been able to react to my mood. If I'm happy, he's happy. If I'm sad, he will stay by my side. I miss him being a little 8 pound puppy, but he has grown into a wonderful 93 pound, slobber face, dog. Love you, Chuck!

Emilee and James

Last week I photographed my friends, Emilee and James. They are quite a funny couple and I love the way they interact together. There is never a dull moment! :)

Christmas Presents

I have had quite a few people ask for me to take pictures of them and their siblings for Christmas presents for family members, friends, and God parents. I had not really thought of it at the beginning of the Christmas season, but it has been working out really well. It has been really fun and a little surprise for someone else brings a little extra excitement to the table. Unfortunately, I cannot post any of these pictures until after Christmas because I, as well as clients, don't want their families seeing beforehand. Let me know if you are interested!! :)

Baby Trey

On November 5, baby Trey made his way into the world. 16 days later, I had the privilege to take a couple hundred picturea of him. It was my first newborn shoot and I enjoyed every minute of it. He was such a sweet, calm baby and his mom, Felicity, was great with helping me out and thinking of ideas. Hopefully I will be able to do more shoots like this in the future. :)

Palo Christmas Pictures

Today I took the pictures for the Palo family. I always love seeing them! They are such a fun family and it doesn't hurt that they're beautiful! I hope you like them. :)

Yancey Clan

Here was a little bit of the test shoot from Thursday night with the new lighting. They're a goofy crew and I love hanging out with them. :)

New Things

I'm getting a lovely shipment of new equipment on Monday. It's like my birthday is coming 3 months early and I had to pay for my own birthday presents.. But I'm excited like it's my birthday. Anyway, the things I am getting will make indoor shoots as well as newborn shoots a lot easier and better. I also have five families booked for Christmas photos so if you would like me to take them for you, you can either make an appointment with me by e-mail @ kaitlinsmegalphotography@gmail.com. I am so excited about everything that is happening and it wouldn't be possible without the support of my friends and family. :)

The City

At the beginning of the semester I thought having to go to school in New Orleans 3 times per week would be terrible. It has instead given me the opportunity and time, that I wouldn't otherwise take, to get to know City Park and what it has to offer. This is just one of the things I have captured on a walk around the park. It isn't much, but I really love it. 

Hannah

So today I took my sister out for a little shoot that we have wanted to do for a while. She's such a pretty girl  and I wish she would realize it! We had a lot of fun today even though it was really chilly. 

Fellows' Wedding

My friend Reca and Dane were married this summer. Although I was not the photographer, I got some cute shots in. Reca was the most beautiful, Brazilian bride I could have ever imagined. She wore a lace dress that fit her perfectly and my mom did her hair. I felt so privileged to be a part of her wedding and meet her parents who flew all the way from Brazil to be part of her special day. Everything was perfect!

Jude Michael

Jude is my friend Kristen's son. He is such a bundle of joy. During his surprise birthday shoot he laughed and laughed while walking down the seawall. He also managed to disturb everyone's romantic sunset with his monkey noises. It was totally worth it when I gave his mommy his pictures for his first birthday. Here are just a few.
